The Akron and Cleveland results are in!

i. The Akron, Cleveland, and Mahoning Valley LGBTQ+ Community Needs Assessment results are in! Together, these three regional assessments create one of the most comprehensive pictures to date of LGBTQ+ health, well-being, and lived experience across Northeast Ohio. Beginning with the Greater Akron LGBTQ+ Community Needs Assessment in 2022, this work established a foundation for identifying the unique challenges, strengths, and priorities of local LGBTQ+ communities. Expanding into Greater Cleveland in 2024 demonstrated both the effectiveness and scalability of a community-based participatory research approach grounded in authentic community engagement. The completion of the Greater Mahoning Valley LGBTQ+ Community Needs Assessment further strengthened the dataset by centering the voices and experiences of LGBTQ+ people living in more rural and small-town communities. Collectively, these assessments now span 12 counties across Northeast Ohio, creating a rich regional dataset that helps communities, organizations, funders, and policymakers better understand and respond to LGBTQ+ health and equity needs across urban, suburban, and rural contexts.
